Presently the RedLine MetroRail runs from Cedar Park to downtown
Austin. The city is proposing to expand the MetroRail passenger line
with a a fixed-car rail that will run from the east Austin development
Meuller which is one of the RedLine stops to the Austin Convention
Center. With pickups occurring every 10 to 15 minutes, this line would
connect downtown, the Capitol Comples and The University of Austin with
transfer stops. Look for this proposal in a 2014 bond election with a
target up and running date of 2021.
