Selecting a Lot on Which to Build

When I stumbled upon Reserve at Brushy Creek in Cedar Park, I new it would be a good neighborhood for us.

We had been talking about moving for years but couldn't think of anywhere to go. We did want to stay in the Austin area because our children and grandchildren are here but we wanted a one-story house with a 3-car garage and didn't want to move any further away from our kids. Plus, like everyone else, we had a budget.

What we liked about this neighborhood was that it is landlocked by another neighborhood and is only going to be 100 homes, it has a community pool, there was a 1-story floorplan that would work for us with a 3-car garage, it was only 10 minutes further away than where we currently live and it was within our budget.

Next we needed to select a lot. We spent about an hour walking the streets with a plat to check out the lots. We decided we didn't want to back to another house and liked the section that would back to a seldom used road into the neighborhood beyond. We selected a lot that viewed the acerage of the house beyond, was relatively level and toward the top of the street.

Our floorplan wouldn't fit on that lot! We went back to the street and looked at the lot next to it. Still not deep enough. Finally, our third choice fit nicely. I negotiated the hold deposit and we are set. When that section opens to build, they will notify us with a limited time to confirm our purchase.

If you are interested in purchasing new construction, I can represent you. Let me know if you would like e to show you my new neighborhood.
