The Austin Business Journal has reported that compared to 102
markets across the nation from September 2007 to September 2012, Austin
added the largest percentage of private-sector jobs with a 7.6 percent
increase. Out of 17 metro areas of over 500,000 in population Houston
was number one adding 122,800 jobs and Austin was number two with 46,000 jobs added.
